  1. This is a a little off subject, and nothing personal here, but the sign flashing free downloads at the top of this site probably fulfills the bad feelings that some of our most loyal members have had about this site.

I hope you understand that I say this as a fan of the site, but I’d suggest that you put the ad more in the background, “discretely,” as the New Wave era UK might have said, or else I’ll end up cruising this site any time I want to pick up a hooker or have an epilepsy fit.

Any of you guys live in L.A.?

    With all tough love–

  2. Hey guys,

I’m also noticing that the ad is pushing the layer of the posts down a bit as well and rendering the Rock Town Hall logo that I so adore, useless as a link to get back to the main page. I’m using Firefox here, and have some quality assurance background if you need a willing tester on cross-platform matrices;) (I know, neeerd.)

  3. The Back Office

We’re in test mode with the ad. We chose this 3-day weekend to play with it as the traffic will be low.

Sally- I am on FireFox and the RTH banner still works as a link to the Main Stage. What happens when you click it.

  4. Hmm – Firefox logged an error for it – I’ll send it and you can see if it makes any sense. I’ve been away for a day or two so this was the first time I logged into the hall from email since you’ve added the banner. It seems to be back to normal now… Maybe I’ll clear my cache and see what happens.

I’m using Safari, and the RTH banner is pushed down with the top of the posts, and the logo doesn’t function as a link. I’m not anti-ad per se, in that if it helps keep the thing going, that’s fine. But the first rule has to be that it doesn’t impede or slow down the function of the page as it is to start.

  6. I just want to know what search Gerry was doing to lead to this!

The banner works fine on IE 7. Is it possible to move to the e-music banner off on the side – on the paneling?

I’m not making any moral issues on the ad, but it does detract from one of my fav features of the blog, the revolving pictures in the top banner. The blinking of the e-music banner makes it hard to focus on the pictures. Just my $.02

  7. The Back Office

We’re trying to put together a version of the ad to see how it looks embedded in the side bar. We’re not thrilled with the way it looks up there as the rotating RTH banner images are among one of favorite things as well. We have a skeleton crew working today, holiday, but hope to have it up later to see how it works there.

    Thank you for your attention.

    Also, check: http://www.memoryalmostfull.com/

and don’t be shy about refreshing the home page to hear more traxx –almost all of which thus far sound really, really good. Go figure! Go Paulie!

    Hello folks,

Sorry I’ve been out of touch on holiday weekend travels. Just catching up now. Thanks for seemingly working through the placement of the eMusic ad. I missed its debut, but we were afraid of the results reported. Looks like it will do its thing and keep out of the way of the glory of the opening RTH banner where it presently resides, on the right side.
