gerry, you must be trying to wake plurb from his rocktown slumber: not only do we have a pretty gretsch guitar in there, but chalf's greek fisherman cap makes an appearance, too.

Gerry, that is kewl. AndyR and I used to muse upon what is the standard recognizable opening that you see on reruns of their first season. It's the intro to the first season, and yet you can watch clips of the meteoric evolution of Mickey from a Help era moptop to an afro'd dashiki wearing hippie. It was mindblowing to ponder how the The Monkees were able to traverse the entire '65-'69 era in a single season. Oh that's right, we were high.

Sensational! You guys are confusing me. I miss the rock, and I have three days of full recuperation into the rock world! Marvelous! Mod - I'm gonna get you a Byrds thing.

Who sings the standard opening theme, Mickey? Good choice. Nesmith's cool and all, but his take on the lead vocals lack that populist oomph.

Don't The Monkees kind of just generally lack oomph? I mean, besides their car, of course. The car had oomph to spare!

Man, whoever wrote-in John Hiatt in today's poll was a genius! Perhaps no artist has a less-appealing combination of Look, album cover art, and voice.

It was me, and I like Hiatt's voice. I just don't know what possesses him to use as his default album cover concept a huge photo of his face taking up every inch of the space, the profile pic on Slow Turning being the worst example.

If you're a singer songwriter, do you have to appear on your own album covers?
