Townsman 2000 Man reports a verification of his Rock Nerd Credentials. How do YOU size up?

I've long held the public view that I am truly only an expert in one area, that being What I Like. I've also held the widely shared view that Rolling Stone Magazine doesn't know their ass from a hole in the ground, and they know even less about rock music, or at least what's good. But now, I'm thinking maybe I should change my mind.

Because I've taken their Almost Impossible Quiz.

And I've come out on top, baby!

I even managed to get questions about Prince and Led Zeppelin right.

I scored a 43. I am an Expert and I "know my Bowie from my Bambaata." So from here on out, when I chime in, you'll know you're getting a bonafide Rolling Stone Magazine Expert Opinion.

Mr. Mod - how did you find that video? That's like three things I utterly despise all wrapped up into one little window on my PC. Fox News, Bill O'Really? and a Monkee? Ugh. I did think it was funny how Bill glossed over the Monkee's drug references.

But, you have to admit - Maybe the morons at Rolling Stone are just a little smarter than you once thought, eh?

I liked where BillO claimed there was a "campaign to ban the Monkees from the R&RHoF." Not exactly the truth, but close enough for The O'Reilly Factor. Also rich was Jones saying he hadn't really thought about the issue. Would that more TV interviewees admitted this.

Glad people are digging that interview with Davey. It's squirm-worthy on many levels, no? I came across it while searching YouTube for a clip of Jann Wenner playing himself in the severely disappointing Jamie Lee Curtis-John Travolta vehicle Perfect.

Wow, G48 - what was your title? I know a lot of people that seem to be getting in the Whiz category and one guy that scored 20 and said, "That's not about rock n' roll - I'm GLAD I don't know that shit!" But a 53 should get you to Poobah or Ho Dad at the very minimum.

I got a 53, too, with a few guesses that panned out. Didn't take note of the title, but it had the same "Bowie to Bambaata" line, so it was probably Expert. I think they screwed me over on that Motels four-parter, there's no way I got that wrong.

I got a 43. I think most of us are on the same wavelength, or something. Regardless, that was definitely harder than I thought it would be, but not next to impossible.
