The Eagle's Eye

2008-01-28 | by hrrundivbakshi [mail]

Cast your eye over the following photo. There are at least four personalities in it you probably know, and two you should probably recognize right away. The Townsperson who can name the greatest number wins a coveted RTH No-Prize!

Who dat?

Tough. Aside from Dave Spade in the front and Doug Henning in the back, I'm at a loss.

Is that Santana and crew? Sanatana or as Sammy said, Doug Henning

That's Clapton, front and center, no?

Oh my, is that Hall and Oats?

Is the woman with the flower Yvonne Ellman?

And that must be legendary, imaginary rock manager Tony Gorgonzola standing on the right.

Samulah -- funny, but wrong.

Shawn -- Yes, yes, and no to the rest -- but also funny!

Andyr -- No all around.

Mod -- No, yes, no, and... you may be closer than you know. Much closer!

The mustachioed guy up front isn't Clapton? Then that guy or the guy kneeling to his left - that's not G.E. Smith, is it? Where there's Hall and Oates there's likely Smith and T-Bone Wolk, right?

Is the obvious Italian-American manager type Tommy Mottola, or whatever his name is - the guy who was married to Mariah Carey?

So far, Mod is in the lead with his correct ID of legendary producer Tommy Mottola. The last remaining dude you all should have at least heard of is either the Clapton lookalike or the guy crouching to his right in the photo (I forget which of those two he is -- *I*'d never know him by sight. But I had heard of him). Of all RTHers, I suspect BigSteve will stand the greatest chance of a positive ID.

I figured the guy on one knee next to 'Clapton' was a crazed Keith Carradine. Does anyone wear a flower in her hair like that except Maria Muldaur? My first guess was that Bobbie Raitt next to her, and I think that's Candy Slice next to her. And I was hoping that was Prakash John in the back on the right.

Is this the new Marah lineup? Just kidding.

This is Hall and Oates, Tommy Motolla and isn't that Clapton looking guy Dan Hicks? I would guess the some of the "Hot Licks" are in there too.

Man, I haven't laughed so hard during a day in the Hall in a long time. Good thing, because otherwise I had my Least Favorite Day of 2008 - so far! The Prakash John reference was killer, BigSteve! Petesecrutz, likewise on the Marah crack. Congrats on topping me with the Dan Hicks references. I would have never gotten that guy.
