Triple Play From The Pretty Things and a Not-So Supergirl

04/05/08 | by Mr. Moderator

Dig these three (3), count 'em three (3), back-alley, lip-sync performances by The Pretty Things. Good effort!

Not-so super guys and girls after the jump...

Follow up:

Never heard of this guy, Graham Bonney, or this song, "Supergirl", but once I started watching it I had trouble taking my eyes off it. There's a nice, enthusiastic twist about 42 seconds into the performance. Watch Graham squirm. Also, I didn't know England turned out its own poor-man's versions of Frankie Valli and Lou Christie.

This is one of those times I wish we had more estrogen representin' in da Hall. I want to know, ladies: did this Graham Bonney fellow get laid, or were the girls of Britain totaly turned off by his mic-tippping, hip-twitching cheese factor?

p.s.: SHAMELESS SELF-PROMOTION DEPT.: My current band, the Pressure Sounds, is playing the Knitting Factory in NYC tonight. Totally low-key, multi-band affair, and this ska band I'm in is of the decidedly frothy, early-60s-retro variety, so you won't leave shaken to the very core of your being, terrified of the beasts lurking in the dark corners of your soul. On the other hand, you might have fun, if you're in the area.
