I think that's a bottle of "The Clear" sitting on the counter in the opening shot, and at the 1:35 mark she's definitely working "The Cream" into her skin!

I don't hate the Yanks. Clemens started off as dick with the Redsucks and apparently started juicing with the BlowJays, so what's your point? Kevin McHale had it right in the 80s, they call him Rocket Man, not rocket scientist. It's probably just McNamee trying to infer that Clemens also did underage girls.

I bring up Raines because his nickname was "Rock" which supposedly was used unironically to indicate his solidity, when it's pretty clear he was also heavily into cocaine during his time in Montreal.

Actually I think Chuck Berry would be a better fit for Ty Cobb since they both have the reputation for being major league douchebags of the highest magnitude despite their artistic and athletic talents.

I figure Berry sort of "broke" the color line for white pop radio. Robinson had a temper, he was just disciplined enough to control it -after the first few years, he was as hard-nosed a player as you could find.

Cobb was a no-nonsense hitting machine. He played the game to win. Yes, I think Chuck Berry is the best equivalent for Cobb.
Is there a Jackie Robinson character? Jimi Hendrix broke the "post-50s rock color barrier," but it's not like many followed in his footsteps, my apologies to fans of The Busboys. Hey, let's look at it from an international perspective rather than race. The Beatles are the Jackie Robinson of rock.
I think Elvis Presley is the Babe Ruth of rock. Check out their late-career waistlines.
The Stones are the Mickey Mantle of rock: hard-living, band members expecting to die young, switch-hitting...
I liken Pete Rose to a more 1-dimensional, scrappy band than the Stones - or a maverick, like Dylan. I can't put my finger on the more 1-dimensional band, because we'd need one that had staying power for 20+ years. I'm not accepting AC/DC:P I'm standing by Dylan, who like Rose, who played any position needed, re-created himself a few times over.

The only baseball fans who hate Pete Rose are ones who never had the pleasure of watching him play for their home team! I hated him for the first 8 years of my baseball fandom, then loved him as soon as he joined the Phillies. Nothing will change my love for what the man brought to the game. Like Dylan.

I consider the stones a Singles band mostly. Babe Ruth was the best player and changed how the game was played, that's how I think of the Beatles. Started out as pitchers of others' songs if you will, but quickly becam powerful hitmakers of their own, did not manage others very well (Apple) vs the pathetic attempts by Ruth to become a manager. Incorporated other genres as Babe would become larger than the game, the Beatles became larger that pop music.

Elvis is more like Rogers Hornsby, helping to popularize the harder full swing but not fully capitalizing on it. Didn't know about anything but baseball and was the best Right-handed hitter. Honus Wagner was too ugly to be Elvis. Maybe Christy Matthewson.
