Wow...PSG on SNL. I remember that. I remember the babysitter that gave me a Jerry Lewis and the Playboys album and a Monkeys album when I was ten. When I was thirteen she knew I was listening to Grand Funk and other noisemakers of the time. She brought over Horses and the way I listened to music and bought music changed a lot. Thanks, Denise, wherever you are!

I first saw the Brass in Pocket video at a Midnight Movie. They didn't have any videos on TV by me then. That one stuck out among the bunch of music related things they showed that night. I bought the album the next payday, and it's still one of my favorites.

The thing I remember most about The Pretenders and that "Brass in Pocket" video when it first came out was an interview in which Chrissie Hynde discussed her self-appointed role in defending a woman's right to wear big, cotton underwear. As a show of solidarity, I burned my high-cut silk briefs the next day.

The women of 70s rock still own me, that's all I can say.
