Sounds of the Hall in roughly 33 1/3 minutes!

For the Thanksgiving holiday Mr. Moderator shares a very special Saturday Night Shut-In. Your host gives thanks and praise in between complaints over the audacity of asking for salt and pepper when served with an original vinyl Beatles album. A special shout-out is sent to former members of John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers. Join us, won’t you?

Great show, Mod! Happy Thanksgiving to you and all the RTH readers!

This show was a good accompaniment to cooking; it got me through a pumpkin pie and wild rice casserole. Now I’m on to a pecan pie – might have to listen to it a 3rd time.

I really liked that Robin Hitchcock track. I wouldn’t have pegged it as RH and instead was wondering if it was a permutation of Love’s “Alone Again, Or.” Nice to hear “Village Green Preservation Society” and more from Erykah Badu. Mr. Royale really digs her; I hadn’t heard much so appreciated the opportunity. That track was a good retro funk that I’ll be searching for to add to future mixes. Mr. Royale just added that he appreciated the John Hassell.

As more eating holidays are approaching, we’ll have to flesh out your excellent salt/pepper/catsup analogy further, perhaps in a separate thread. Is there any music that requires parmesan cheese sprinkled on top? Is drowned in gravy? I certainly don’t want to listen to any music that requires it to be topped with Durkee fried onions. I am hoping that other RTH foodies, such as HVB, can weigh in here…

    Happy Eating, Happy Listening,
    LMKR

  2. The Rascals go best with a Romano cheese.

Happy Thanksgiving to all, even those of you ex-US Townsfolk. Eat plenty and frequently.

  3. I’m very thrilled with the return of Saturday Night Shut-In. It’s been a while. It was regular Monday morning listening at work when available.

Is there a way I can HIGH FIVE this episode? I thought for sure that Erykah Badu song was out the P-Funk stable.
