Somebody needs to be the voice rising up against<\/em> the rampant consumerism<\/strong><\/a> that seems to be overtaking rock and roll from all quarters — even in the hallowed halls, it seems. I say: Pshaw!<\/em> And if you think anything<\/em> is new under the sun, or worth buying and owning, I say: Double-pshaw!<\/em> Why, just the other day, a recording — literally etched in smoke in the year 1860 — was digitally deciphered<\/strong> and played for the world’s ears for the first time. The ghostly warblings definitively prove that, if nothing else, The Band<\/strong> were a bunch of olde-fashioned poseur assholes. This<\/em> is what real old-timey music is meant to sound like!<\/p>
