Happy Birthday & Thank You

Well it’s that time of year when we all bow down at the feet of our illustrious Mr. Moderator<\/span><\/strong>, perhaps the greatest rock-talker this world has known, and wish him Happy Birthday<\/em> and give him a sincere thanks<\/em> for pioneering the way towards this virtual sanctuary. And I’m only 1\/2 joking.<\/p>\n

RTH<\/span><\/strong> is a community as in a\u00a0real<\/em> community. This came to me twice within the recent past. \u00a0Mrs. Maudlin and I trekked down to Los Feliz recently to catch an art opening headlining our very own Slim Jade<\/span><\/strong>. The missus and I had gone to high school with Slim’s missus so RTH has brought us closer…BUT when I walked into our meeting place I was introduced to RTH’s own trigmogigmo.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>Trigmo is what we in The Back Office<\/span><\/strong> call an “organic” Townsperson. Meaning he found us without anyone pointing the way. He encouraged a friendship with the Jade’s as they live near each other and he comes down to Los Feliz to the show and…\u00a0sammy meets trigmo<\/span><\/strong>. Weird and wonderful. Wouldn’t have happened if we didn’t exist. But we do. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We listen to rock therefore we are.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The time before that the community impacted me was when I took a bad fall in 2011 and was hospitalized and blah blah blah. Folks here attended a fundraiser\u00a0The Mod<\/span> <\/strong>put on and\/or donated $ to help my family during this difficult time. Some, many, of these folks I’ve never met in person! They did it because we met here<\/em>. That is what a community does.<\/p>\n

Enough about me…what do you think of me? JK. So what in the world could I possibly do to to thank Mr. Moderator for his 30+ year friendship that has meant so much to me that I’ll get wedgied if I continue expounding on it here.<\/p>\n

I have no way to prep you for the following gift-of-gifts except to say that it is after the fold…because it is NSFW. (Don’t know what NSFW stands for? Google it or regret not Googling it. At this point I realize that it would have taken less space, time [mine and yours] if I had just written out what it stands for but…that’s part of the gift…I guess…)<\/p>\n

Some of you may have heard of the revelations that have come out of the new-ish Kenny Rogers<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0memoir\u00a0<\/em>“Luck or Something Like It<\/strong>“. The following is from an article\u00a0here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 74-year-old star admitted setting up a 1800 number for women to call so he could indulge in phone sex with them. Three women later filed a lawsuit against the star claiming he had coaxed them into playing kinky phone sex games… Rogers settled the lawsuit before it ever came to court in 1990. But now speaking about the phone sex he said:’I thought that (phone sex) was the safest sex there was, only to get hammered by it.\u00a0Here I was, it\u2019s between friends. We can\u2019t be together, so let\u2019s talk about it. It was great, it was exciting, it was fun. They didn\u2019t have to call if they didn\u2019t want to, but they did and recorded it.’<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
