It might be argued that this discussion will come down to a rehash of rock’s most iconic logos<\/a>, but I believe there are certain kick drum heads that are iconic in their context as kick drum heads, not just vehicles for the display of a cool logo. When you think of Ringo Starr<\/strong>, for instance, is the image complete with the primitive kick drum head pictured above, or do you think of this:<\/p>\n

I would argue that Ringo’s Ludwig kick drum head with his band’s logo is more iconic than The Beatles<\/em> logo apart from the context of that drum head. And that’s not the only Ringo-related kick drum head that is burned in our brains:<\/p>\n

There are many more iconic kick drum heads that come to mind, including at least one captured and burned into our collective rock consciousness at at a specific, explosive moment.
