Are they not aware that a lot of electricity is surging on\u00a0stage? It&#8217;s not like they&#8217;re performing on a <a title=\"Barefoot Brian\" href=\"http:\/\/www.jrwilsonmusic.com\/sitebuildercontent\/sitebuilderpictures\/ViciousCircel.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">beach<\/a>. Aren&#8217;t they afraid that a clumsy bandmate might step on their foot? Or that a <a title=\"Pointy guitar\" href=\"http:\/\/pointyguitar.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/02\/kramer_campbell_gftpm_04_89.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">pointy guitar<\/a> might impale\u00a0a toe? What motivates any musician to go barefoot on stage? Beside a <a title=\"Barefoot drummer\" href=\"http:\/\/farm1.staticflickr.com\/23\/27656399_5522fcb70b_o.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">drummer<\/a>, who might make the case that they have a better feel for their kick drum and hi-hat pedals when they play barefoot, does any other musician have much use for their feet beside standing on them?<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not the world&#8217;s most dedicated follower of barefoot fashions, but I&#8217;ve got no beef with being barefoot around the house, on the beach, or in the yard.\u00a0You may have a\u00a0beef with my gnarled toenails, so I don&#8217;t make a habit of going barefoot in the homes of people I don&#8217;t know well. I respect those &#8220;No shoes, no shirt, no service!&#8221; signs when I go out to dine. Why would I want to stand on an elevated stage and play guitar with my bare feet at eye level with hundreds or thousands of fans?<\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s your take on barefoot musicians? Is it <a title=\"Barefoot Ronnie\" href=\"http:\/\/www.morethings.com\/music\/lynyrd_skynyrd\/lynyrd-skynyrd-128.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">cool<\/a>? Sexy on anyone beside a young Linda Rondstadt? <a title=\"Barefoot Bob Weir\" href=\"http:\/\/www.michaelfalzarano.com\/Bob%20Weir%20and%20Michael.JPG\" target=\"_blank\">Disgusting<\/a>? Do you find it distracting, as you fear\u00a0for their safety?
