Is anyone calling for the Arcade Fire&#8217;s FrankenMenonite, <strong>Win Butler<\/strong>, to unbutton even a second button on his <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.1037themountain.com\/files\/2010\/09\/win1.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">Workingman&#8217;s Shirt<\/a>?<\/p>\n<p>There was a time, I suppose, when it was a treat to see the <a href=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/-hgGlK8x65BY\/TZTm9SsIzUI\/AAAAAAAACLc\/lCjwdPO8-94\/s1600\/AngusYoung.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">matted, sweaty chest hair<\/a> of\u00a0<strong>Angus Young<\/strong>&#8216;s scrawny chest. Will today&#8217;s rock fans be treated anything more than the <a href=\"http:\/\/images.publicradio.org\/content\/2008\/06\/02\/20080602_dcfc6_33.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">matted Munchkin-do of the bassist<\/a> in <strong>Death Cab for Cutie<\/strong>? A teenage boy <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sweetslyrics.com\/images\/img_gal\/4574_freddie_mercury_102.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">didn&#8217;t have to be a stereotypical jock<\/a> to show off his pecs. And <a href=\"http:\/\/superqueen.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/09\/3406508395_4497dd95a6.jpg?w=469&amp;h=337\" target=\"_blank\">bare chests<\/a> were <a href=\"http:\/\/farm3.static.flickr.com\/2400\/1568356160_a93a3d2b94.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">not limited<\/a> to hard rock. There were even some pioneers in the field of bare-chested rocking, but <a href=\"http:\/\/media.drawerb.com.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp\/2007\/10\/wendyowilliamsaplas80uy.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">some are better appreciated at home, with no kids around<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In the 1970s, when men were men and <a href=\"http:\/\/celebrityroast.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/02-burt-reynolds-mustache.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">chests were hairy<\/a>, little more than <a href=\"http:\/\/www.didtheydie.com\/images\/bon_scott.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">12-oz wrist curls<\/a> were necessary for the confidence to bare one&#8217;s chest. The chest hair was forgiving, it <a href=\"http:\/\/celebrity-pics.movieeye.com\/celebrity_pictures\/Gene_Simmons_931041.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">evened things out<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-7502\" title=\"kiedis5\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rocktownhall.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/kiedis5-300x187.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"187\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.rocktownhall.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/kiedis5-300x187.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.rocktownhall.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/kiedis5-1024x640.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.rocktownhall.com\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/kiedis5.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The &#8217;80s were the last great stand of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.boiseweekly.com\/images\/blogimages\/2010\/06\/22\/1277246285-danzig_glennlivedb0.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">Bare-Chested Rocker<\/a>, but that era was coupled with the rise of the <a href=\"http:\/\/earsucker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/10\/axl_rose_younger.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">Smooth Look<\/a>. Rockers could get away with that when they were in their Chippendale&#8217;s prime, but my how <a href=\"http:\/\/slantmouth.com\/articles\/fairAndChallenged\/images\/fatAxl.jpg\" target=\"_blank\">they could use some forgiving chest hair<\/a> when years of abuse and Father Time catch up with them.
