Strutter
By Mr. Moderator on Nov 18, 2008
In our recent thread on dances that Townspeople have done, Telewacker asked to see a clip demonstrating Philadelphia's famed Mummers Strut. Before you see the strut in action, first watch this instructional clip.
Next, watch the Ferko String Band in action! Watch them strut!

Well I have to thank youse for finding and posting those clips!
And I have to congratulate Philadelphians for coming up with a dance as dignified as the Viennese waltz and as good-natured as the soft-shoe!
Anyone who could witness the Mummer's Stut performed by Ferko without a grin on his gob would undoubtedly walk down the street kicking puppies.
I will immediately add this step to my pre-Yukon Jack repertoire! (Post-Yukon-Jack I'm limited to the spazmodic-twitch pretty much).
Ferko is awe inpsiring. I caught myself humming 'O dem golden slippers' at least four times yesterday. Does anyone else miss the Cheap Suit Serenaders?
