“The Iceman,” Jerry Butler, and McDonald’s do it all for you, now what are you gonna do for us?

Ah, Mr. Mod, this reminds me of a recent conversation I was having with a friend: what happened to the art of the jingle? This is a nice little commercial tune, and someone got paid to write it. Now it just seems that producers just borrow some older (usually classic rock) tune to sell their stuff. Am I the only person to miss the jingle?

As one of several Townspeople in attendance, I have to say that with their final song at the farewell show on Saturday, Photon Band struck a powerful blow for the pro-McCartney camp at Rocking Town Hall.

Now THAT’S a sign from the heavens! Thanks for reporting, HVB.

  6. Ladymiss,
I know you’re out west but have you seen the Wawa Hoagiefest commercials online?

They’re Yellow Submarine-esque and I, for one, think they vastly improve on the movie. In fact, I just might get a Shorty for lunch now that I’m thinking about it.

I like those WaWa ads too, cdm.

I heard a new McDonald’s jingle on the radio this morning, although I wasn’t “lovin’ it.”

Word on the street is that it’s ladymisskiroyale’s birthday. Hope you’re having a happy one!

  9. Sort of a work of deranged genius. How far can you get through this?
