We’ve got a hot new t-shirt for you, the long-awaited German True Stereo shirt. While your rock-nerd friends are content to experience the world in regular old stereo or, at best, Japanese gold, remastered 5-D surround sound, you can proudly let them know where you’re coming from. The German True Stereo shirt is available here.

Also new to the Rock Town Hall store is the Pince Nez mug. What better way to start your day in the Halls of Rock but with a cup of coffee and a humbling reminder of the limits of our rock expertise? The Pince Nez mug is available here.

On a related note the RTH Booooooks link has been updated with many of the rock bios discussed earlier this week. Check ’em out and fill your head with new bits of, outside this place, useless information!

    Thanks.

That shirt is swell! I love the mug, too. I wish I drank coffee. Or tea. Or I guess anything that goes in a coffee cup. Any way we can get Pince Nez’d on a pint glass?

  3. You know what, I didn’t think of that. I don’t see a pint glass option on Zazzle, but you can customize the mug in the “Choose your style” section to be a frosted glass mug or stein. I’ll look into pint glasses some more.

  4. That “German True Stereo” shirt is the bee’s knees! I might have to get me one in time to wear to JazzFest!

A couple more books suggested by Mr. Royale: “Mystery Train” by Greil Marcus and “Stagger Lee Shot Billy” by Cecil Brown (tracing the Stagger Lee myth through song). Also “Blissed Out” by Simon Reynolds and “Ocean of Sound” by David Toop.

  6. God, I haven’t looked at the Booooooks link since I was a lurker. Who knew Ian Hunter had a bio? Out of print though.

Thanks so much for the tip on the Cecil Brown book, Monsieur Royale. I knew there was such a book, and I tried to identify it recently, but I couldn’t come up with a title, partly because of spelling variants I think (it’s actually called Stagolee Shot Billy). And we have a copy at my library!
