Oh, God! Almost any single frame from that would have won the Battle Royale! That was the longest 4 1/2 minutes of my life, but I still couldn’t stop watching.

Wow, was that Vincent Price on vocals!

The dancing girls are interesting from an archive perspective: excellent demonstration of Classic 70’s Bump and Grind Dance moves (I’m calling out to Mrs. Maudlin for her recollections of Mrs. Hake’s dance class). I’m just hoping that no deer were injured in the making of those costumes. Or just one deer.

I like this version of the song: great costumes, chest exposure, phallic (double!) guitar use and demonstration of Rock’s Most Useless Musician Prop:

Hey, been listening to the new old Stones live record, Music from Charlie Is My Darling. Finally the Brian Jones era Stones have a good live album. Really good stuff. I await other opinions.

  4. I had no idea such a record existed. I need to pick that up!

I am not sure if it is even out yet. It just appeared on Spotify this past week. It is tremendous. A far, far better representation of the Stones as a live band than Got Live If You Want It, but that’s damning with faint praise.

  6. If anyone has a deeper connection, feel free to write down your thoughts on Pete Seeger, who died today at 94. I thought he was cool, for folk music and beyond. Reading about him this morning I was reminded of a third song my dad loved: “If I Had a Hammer.” Carpentry was my dad’s passion. It was his force of good. He’d play me that song and prompt me to sing along. It was nice. There’s another nice member I can carry with me from that man. Thanks, Pete
