Counting backwards, at the 3:45 mark, Lou provides what may be the definitive explanation of the true Lou Reed sound – at least as of the time of this interview. Don’t miss it!

    god…that SET is awful.

    Lou is an impatient prick.

Did he have plastic surgery around this time? his face looks one size too small.

“Lou…where do you FIND these people???”.

    it’s magic.

Yes, but you see he’s playing “Lou Reed,” and “Lou Reed” is an impatient prick. He plays “Lou Reed” better than anyone dammit. And he does not appreciate it when an interviewer misses one of his jokes (0:20).

It may be surgery, but I think it may just be the short new wave haircut. Or is that even his hair? I find it funny that this is the point where supposedly got scared straight, but when he talks with his hands his wrists say otherwise.

I also like when he’s talking about the then cutting-edge Emulator, and he says (3:10) “It’s kind of silly not to have one, so I have one.” I bet those barking dog sounds came in handy.

  3. “I thought that was pretty funny.”

    No, Lou; it wasn’t.

I LOVE the fact that Lou Reed had to sit on a set like that. I hope they constructed it especially for him.

Hey, no stereotyping!:) I had to read that line a couple of times before I got it. I had the wrong “straight” in mind. I thought, “Is Steve seeing track marks on his wrists?”

In the poll that’s been running regarding folks dancing at concerts, I’m seeing a lot of dancers out there…Surprising.

  6. Well, I was thinking of Cajun and zydeco shows. If you’re talking about dancing to indie rock, no way.

Oi, Rick — have you ever heard this guy? I fear he only broadcasts locally, but he is *awesome*. You’d love him, yeah yuh right!
