  1. That’s a pretty standard progression. I’m pretty sure that Setzer and Quine both stole it from an earlier source.

These are kinda sorta similar but both being so basic it’s hard to say that one came from the other. Unless like Slim Jim Phantom stole Marky Ramone’s girlfriend or glue or something.

Is that from the burnt orange case?

  4. No, I don’t own “The Beat Generation,” just know it’s the source for Richard Hell’s anthem.

You may not be alone Johnny so this one goes out to you.

Too harsh? Would a “JK” help?

  6. Who new Rod McKuen had this whole other history?

  7. He didn’t. Hell is mistaking Rod McKuen for Bob McFadden (remember, Richard did a lot of drugs)…The link Mod posted is the record he’s talking about.

  8. Yes, but McKuen is credited with writing that song. I think that’s what Al is referring to.

Nice. This is all news to me. Very cool. Can never get enough Beatnik novelty records. Such as this one, “Uncle John’s Bongos” by Johnny & Jack, that Dylan, um, adapted for “Tweedle Dum & Tweedle Dee” on Love & Theft.
