EverybodyKnowsThisIsNowhere

I was not expecting to find the following when I went searching for an early Neil Young performance of this song.

What unexpected cover recently blew your mind, not necessarily in a good way?

  1. Well. I can sort of see the RHCP being interested in the Topanga Canyon scene of the early 70’s. SoCal mythology and all.

That led me to wonder if Neil Young would go around shirtless. Here is the only shot I found in a search:

Neil doesn’t exactly go for the bare-chested howler look.

Some other interesting shots in the linked photo set. Papa John Phillips is fuckin’ creepy.

  2. I can see that, k. Looking through those photos I think I made a rock ‘n roll breakthrough: John Kay is Anthony Kiedis’ actual father, not the soap opera actor I’ve read about. Check it out:

  3. 2000 Man

I really dislike RHCP, and I remember my cousin telling me it was because I “just didn’t get it.” Well, I get that song, and if you ask me, everyone involved in it doesn’t “get it.” Yuck.

On the other hand, what the RHCP lack in the “getting it” department they more than make up for in the “totally sucking” department.

You are emboldening them with every harsh comment.
