What do you all think? I was disappointed to hear the this album doesn’t include their original bass player or drummer. I’d say the album isn’t bad, but isn’t great either. Some tracks are fun, but that vocoder one was a very poor choice. 0 High Five sammymaudlin says: 01/28/2011 at 10:40 pm I was disappointed that Sara Lee wasn’t involved. Saw them live once and she looked at me. I knew she wanted me. I KNEW it. Amazing. I found that in listening to this that if I could divorce myself from it being a GOF release and thought of it more as a Jon and Andy release I liked it much better. What does that say about me? George: It’s all in the mind. 0 High Five ladymisskirroyale says: 01/28/2011 at 11:07 pm Would that have been around ’88 or ’89? If so, she and I were already dating. 0 High Five BigSteve says: 01/29/2011 at 12:39 am Drummer Hugo Burnham went back to being a professor: http://www.ratemyprofessors.com/ShowRatings.jsp?tid=69061&page=1 His retirement from the band was amicable, and they have his blessing. 0 High Five Mr. Moderator says: 01/29/2011 at 10:44 am I’ve got to give it another listen today. On first listen I heard some cool guitar stuff, but I was missing hearing a distinct rhythm section. 0 High Five Mr. Moderator says: 01/29/2011 at 11:11 am On second listen, so far, there’s more rhythm than I was hearing. Maybe I am hung up on the lack of Hugo himself. 0 High Five sammymaudlin says: 01/29/2011 at 1:18 pm I think it was more like 85-86 or so. She was probably thinking about me when she was with you. 0 High Five ladymisskirroyale says: 01/29/2011 at 2:05 pm Cross-referencing posts here, just realized that Andy Gill produced the first Red Hot Chili Peppers album. Did he produce this one, too? 0 High Five Leave a Reply Cancel replyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
